Worldwide Clinical Trials is hiring a Clinical Scientist – Oncology for our Durham, North Carolina office. In this full-time role, you'll advance cancer treatment by driving clinical excellence across trial design, execution, and scientific integrity in oncology studies.

About the Role

As a Clinical Scientist specializing in Oncology, you'll serve as a scientific leader and subject-matter expert throughout the clinical trial lifecycle. Your work directly impacts patient safety, data quality, and regulatory compliance while supporting our global network of researchers and sponsors in bringing breakthrough oncology therapies to market.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with sponsors and clinical teams to design oncology protocols that balance scientific rigor with operational feasibility
  • Provide clinical and scientific oversight during trial setup, conduct, and data review
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on oncology-specific challenges, including patient populations, disease biology, and treatment standards
  • Review and interpret clinical data, study reports, and safety findings to maintain trial quality and integrity
  • Support regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, FDA, and other governing standards
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams, mentoring junior staff and contributing to continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, nursing, or related discipline (PharmD, MD, DO, RN, MS, PhD, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical trial or clinical research experience, with demonstrated expertise in oncology
  • Deep knowledge of oncology therapeutics, disease states, trial endpoints, and patient management
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial design, regulatory pathways, and Good Clinical Practice standards
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to scientific accuracy and ethical conduct
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
