About the Role
As Continuing Education Assistant Instructor, you'll work within our Education department reporting to the Director of Continuing Education. You'll deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in horticulture courses designed for professionals and adult learners seeking deeper botanical knowledge. This position combines classroom teaching with outdoor garden instruction, leveraging the Garden's living collections as your classroom.
What You'll Do
- Teach horticulture and plant science courses to adult professionals and lifelong learners
- Develop instructional materials, lesson plans, and garden-based demonstrations
- Guide students through hands-on horticultural practice and real-world applications
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback throughout course sessions
- Partner with the Education team to refine curriculum and enhance student outcomes
- Track attendance, performance metrics, and course completion records

Compensation
