ESC Region 11
ESC Region 11 is seeking a full-time High School Teacher/Boys' Coach to join our Tolar, Hood County campus and inspire students through rigorous instruction and athletic leadership.
About the Role
As a High School Teacher/Boys' Coach, you'll serve dual roles as an educator and mentor. Your primary responsibility is delivering engaging instruction in your assigned core academic subject while fostering student growth—intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. Beyond the classroom, you'll coach a boys' athletic team, developing not only athletic skills but also character, teamwork, and resilience in your student-athletes.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver high-quality lessons in your core academic subject area aligned with state standards
- Create inclusive learning environments where all students develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Coach your assigned boys' athletic team, emphasizing skill development, sportsmanship, and academic accountability
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues about progress and performance
- Participate in campus and district professional development and collaborative planning
- Model integrity, work ethic, and commitment to student success in all interactions
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Current teaching certification in your subject area or eligibility for Texas certification
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment
- Passion for coaching and developing student-athletes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student success and continuous professional improvement
