About the Role
As a School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant at Mariposa Therapy Services, you'll provide direct support to students in school settings while working alongside experienced speech language pathologists. This part-time position in Central Phoenix and West Valley schools offers the flexibility of part-time work with the fulfillment of clinical practice. You'll contribute to comprehensive speech and language services that help students succeed academically and socially.
What You'll Do
- Support speech and language assessments under SLP supervision
- Implement treatment activities and exercises with students in classroom and therapy settings
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation and progress records
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and speech language pathologists to coordinate care
- Assist with student progress monitoring and data collection
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student development and goals
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Speech Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent training
- Current SLPA certification or eligibility for state certification in Arizona
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary school environment
- Commitment to student success and professional development
- Reliable transportation to school-based assignments in Central Phoenix and West Valley areas
