Housing Specialist

Community Housing Innovations seeks a compassionate and detail-oriented Housing Specialist to join our team in Greeley Square, Manhattan. In this full-time position, you'll support individuals and families in achieving stable housing and economic independence while working toward our vision of breaking generational poverty cycles and fostering lasting upward mobility.

About the Role

As a Housing Specialist with Community Housing Innovations, you'll be at the heart of client services, providing essential support that helps individuals transition into and maintain stable housing. This role combines client interaction, case management, and community coordination to ensure families have the foundation they need to pursue economic self-sufficiency. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues, community partners, and clients to identify barriers, coordinate resources, and build paths toward housing stability.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to understand client needs, barriers, and housing goals
• Develop and implement individualized service plans supporting clients toward housing security
• Coordinate referrals to housing, employment, healthcare, and social services within your community network
• Maintain detailed case notes and documentation ensuring program compliance and client progress tracking
• Provide ongoing support, follow-up, and advocacy to help clients navigate housing and employment pathways
• Collaborate with internal teams and external organizations to address systemic barriers to housing access
• Contribute to community outreach efforts and client education about available resources and programs
