Stepdown Overflow Registered Nurse

About the Role

As a Stepdown Overflow Registered Nurse at Mission Hospital, you'll provide direct patient care in our progressive care setting, where patients transition between acute and lower-acuity care levels. You'll work alongside experienced nurses and interprofessional teams committed to maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety.

What You'll Do

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the stepdown progressive care unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, vital signs, and clinical responses to treatment
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to physician orders and nursing protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to provide education and emotional support
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
• Advocate for patient needs and participate in quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (RN) in North Carolina
• Clinical nursing experience in progressive care, critical care, or acute care settings (preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth
• Current certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS (as required by role)
