Compeer Financial is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor IT to join our team in Bloomington, Hennepin County. In this full-time role, you'll lead information security and IT control assessments across our member-owned cooperative, helping safeguard the financial services we provide to agricultural and rural communities throughout Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
About the Role
As Senior Internal Auditor IT, you'll serve as a key member of our audit function, evaluating technology systems, controls, and processes that underpin our operations. You'll work directly with technology and business leadership to identify risks, recommend improvements, and ensure our IT environment supports the security and reliability our members depend on.
What You'll Do
- Design and execute comprehensive IT audit programs covering system controls, data security, access management, and compliance requirements
- Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and operational systems
- Evaluate IT governance structures, policies, and procedures for alignment with risk appetite and regulatory standards
- Review technology infrastructure, applications, and security practices to identify vulnerabilities and control gaps
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations
- Monitor management's implementation of audit recommendations and report on remediation progress
- Stay current with evolving threats, regulatory changes, and industry best practices in IT audit and cybersecurity
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in IT audit, IT risk assessment, or internal audit with a focus on technology controls
- Strong knowledge of IT control frameworks (COSO, NIST, CIS, or similar) and relevant regulations (SOX, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, GLBA)
- Familiarity with financial systems, database environments, and cloud technologies
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CISSP, or CCAK preferred
