The Walt Disney Company is hiring a Product Software Engineer II in Bristol, Hartford County, to help shape the technology powering Disney Entertainment and ESPN globally. This is a full-time engineering position on a team building the technical foundation for Disney's media business worldwide.
About the Role
As a Product Software Engineer II, you'll work within Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology—a cross-functional organization spanning engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, and data scientists. You'll contribute to systems and solutions that serve millions of users, directly supporting the innovation and scalability that underpins Disney's streaming, sports, and entertainment platforms.
What You'll Do
- Design and build scalable software systems that power Disney Entertainment and ESPN's products and services
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term platform growth
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure quality and reliability
- Work across global teams to deliver features and infrastructure improvements that enhance the user experience
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems for performance and scalability
What We're Looking For
- Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals and the ability to write production-quality code
- Experience with at least one modern programming language and its ecosystem
- Understanding of software design principles, system architecture, and best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a global environment
- Problem-solving mindset and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving technology organization
- Experience building or maintaining products at scale is a plus
