RTX is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer, Radar Analyst in San Diego, California for a full-time, onsite role. This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer and Radar Analyst at RTX, you'll take ownership of advanced radar system design and performance optimization for critical defense and intelligence missions. This is a technical leadership opportunity for a seasoned engineer to drive system architecture, validation, and real-world operational capability.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and validate advanced radar systems and signal processing architectures
- Perform systems engineering analysis including requirements flow-down, trade studies, and performance prediction
- Analyze radar performance data across operational scenarios and environmental conditions
- Lead technical design reviews and integration activities with cross-functional engineering teams
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and systems engineering models
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team technical competency development
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or equivalent technical field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of professional experience in radar systems, signal processing, or systems engineering
- Deep technical knowledge of electromagnetic theory, antenna design, and radar signal processing
- Hands-on proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or equivalent technical computing environments
- Experience with systems engineering methodologies and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
- Demonstrated ability to work with classified material and maintain strict security compliance
- Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required before start date
- U.S. citizenship required
