About the Role
As a GIS Data Entry Specialist, you'll play a critical role in maintaining data quality and system integrity for geographic information systems. Your work ensures that spatial data remains current, accurate, and accessible to clients and the public. This is an on-site position based in the Lakeside area of Henrico County, ideal for someone who takes pride in precision and attention to detail.
What You'll Do
- Receive, verify, and process data from external vendors for integration into client GIS platforms
- Upload validated datasets into geographic information systems following established protocols and quality standards
- Respond to public inquiries—via phone and email—regarding data you've entered and maintain professional communication
- Maintain accurate records of all data transactions and system updates
- Identify and report discrepancies or data quality issues to supervisors
- Coordinate with vendor partners to resolve data inconsistencies and ensure successful system integration
