Amazon is hiring a Data Center Technician in Sterling, Loudoun County to maintain and support the physical infrastructure powering AWS cloud services worldwide. You'll work full-time in a state-of-the-art data center environment, combining hands-on technical expertise with teamwork to keep critical systems operational.
About the Role
As a Data Center Technician at Amazon, you'll be responsible for the hands-on maintenance, installation, and monitoring of critical infrastructure in our data center environment. This position requires both independent problem-solving and strong collaboration with engineering teams to ensure seamless operational performance.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, networking equipment, and storage systems
- Monitor system performance, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot hardware failures in real time
- Perform preventive maintenance and conduct regular inspections of physical infrastructure
- Manage cable routing, labeling, and documentation to maintain an organized technical environment
- Support environmental systems including power distribution and cooling infrastructure
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and engineering teams to resolve complex issues
- Maintain detailed records and follow security and safety protocols in all procedures
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent, with hands-on technical experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a team environment
- Physical ability to lift equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and stand for extended periods
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical documentation
