BACKFILL-CONTRACT – RN – LABOR AND DELIVERY

TalentBurst, Inc. is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery at our Austin, Texas facility. This is a full-time contract position offering 12-hour shifts with no on-call requirements, perfect for experienced L&D nurses seeking flexibility and focused clinical work.

About the Role

Join our Labor and Delivery department at the Austin Medical Center in Travis County as a bedside Registered Nurse. This full-time nursing contract is based on-site in Austin and provides the stability of consistent 12-hour shifts without unexpected call-ins. You'll work either day shifts (7 AM–7 PM) or night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) with four weekend shifts per schedule rotation.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct patient care to pregnant women during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery
  • Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond promptly to clinical changes
  • Assist physicians and midwives during delivery and manage postpartum complications
  • Document comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate medical records
  • Support families through the labor and delivery experience with compassionate, evidence-based nursing care
  • Collaborate with obstetric and neonatal teams to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and babies
  • Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment and follow infection control protocols

What You'll Need

  • Current Texas RN license
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • AWHON IFM (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Intermediate Fetal Monitoring) certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum of one year of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule including weekends
