Join Kpc Global Medical Centers Inc. as an Infection Preventionist (RN) in a part-time, daytime position based in San Jacinto, Riverside County. We're seeking a dedicated registered nurse with expertise in infection control to protect our patients and staff from communicable disease transmission.
About the Role
As an Infection Preventionist, you'll be essential to maintaining a safe clinical environment. Working days on a part-time schedule, you'll conduct surveillance, investigate infection patterns, and implement evidence-based prevention strategies to minimize disease transmission and healthcare-associated infections.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and identify occurrences of infectious diseases, reservoirs, and potential outbreaks within the facility
- Investigate epidemiologically significant organisms and their incubation periods, modes of transmission, and communicability patterns
- Assess susceptibility factors and symptoms associated with disease processes to guide prevention efforts
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies aligned with CDC, OSHA, and state health department standards
- Educate clinical staff on hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, isolation protocols, and exposure prevention
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and leadership to establish and reinforce infection control practices
- Maintain detailed surveillance records, analyze trends, and generate reports for facility review
- Conduct ongoing training and provide guidance on infection prevention best practices
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure in California
- Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention and control principles
- Experience with surveillance, outbreak investigation, and epidemiological analysis
- Strong knowledge of infectious disease processes and transmission mechanisms
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication and staff training capabilities
- Self-directed approach with strong attention to detail and analytical skills
