About the Role

As Lead Heavy Duty Mechanics at BURNCO, you'll oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy construction and fleet equipment while managing day-to-day shop operations. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with leadership responsibilities, requiring someone who can troubleshoot complex equipment issues and mentor a skilled maintenance team.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and service heavy-duty trucks, excavators, loaders, and related construction equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
• Lead and supervise maintenance team members, assigning work and ensuring quality standards
• Maintain detailed service records and equipment documentation
• Identify mechanical issues early and recommend cost-effective solutions
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and company protocols
• Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance around production needs

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a heavy-duty or commercial vehicle mechanic
• Leadership experience managing maintenance teams or shop operations
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate various heavy equipment
• Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
