Mechanicsburg Area School District is hiring a full-time Instructional Assistant to support the LEARN Classroom at Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning August 11, 2026.
About the Role
Join our teaching team as an Instructional Assistant in the LEARN Classroom, where you'll help create an engaging and supportive learning environment. Working closely with teachers and students, you'll provide direct instructional support that helps students build academic skills and develop confidence in their learning. This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about education and committed to student success.
What You'll Do
- Support classroom teachers with instruction and help implement evidence-based learning strategies
- Work one-on-one and small groups with students on academic skills and learning objectives
- Assist with classroom management, organization, and preparation of instructional materials
- Monitor and track student progress, sharing observations with the instructional team
- Support students during transitions and help reinforce positive classroom behaviors
- Maintain a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation
- Communicate with teachers and parents to support student learning goals
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Patience, flexibility, and genuine interest in helping students learn
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
- Comfort working with diverse learners and supporting a range of student needs
