Tutor Perini
Tutor Perini is seeking a full-time TBM Mechanical Superintendent to lead mechanical operations for the Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel project in Grand Central, Manhattan. This is a direct-hire leadership role managing tunnel boring machine systems on a major infrastructure initiative.
About the Role
The TBM Mechanical Superintendent oversees all mechanical operations, systems, and crews on the tunnel boring machine. You'll ensure optimal equipment performance, crew safety, and on-time schedule adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Manage mechanical crews responsible for tunnel boring machine operation, maintenance, and repair
- Monitor and optimize TBM mechanical systems performance in the field
- Implement preventive maintenance programs and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Coordinate mechanical operations with other construction teams and contractors
- Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance on the mechanical team
- Conduct quality inspections and document mechanical work and progress
- Report mechanical operations status to project leadership
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Superintendent or equivalent leadership role in underground or tunnel construction
- Strong expertise in tunnel boring machine systems, mechanics, and field operations
- Track record of managing construction crews and contractors in complex field environments
- Working knowledge of construction safety regulations, OSHA compliance, and safety best practices
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in active construction zones
- US work eligibility without visa sponsorship requirements
Compensation
This full-time position offers a competitive salary in the range of $199,000–$261,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
