Two Eight is seeking an experienced blaster for a full-time position in Conyers, Rockdale County. About the Role
As an experienced blaster with Two Eight, you'll take charge of blast operations across jobsites in the Atlanta metropolitan area. This is hands-on, technical work where your experience directly determines outcomes—from site assessment through successful execution and site restoration.
What You'll Do
- Conduct jobsite evaluations to assess structural conditions, soil composition, and environmental factors
- Design blast patterns and calculate explosive charges based on project specifications and safety standards
- Prepare blast plans, security perimeters, and evacuation protocols
- Install explosives and detonation systems with precision and attention to detail
- Execute controlled detonations while monitoring site conditions and safety compliance
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and site supervisors on timing and logistics
- Maintain detailed blast records and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Perform equipment maintenance and inspection of blasting tools and materials
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in controlled blasting operations or demolition
- Current blasting certifications and licenses as required by Georgia and federal regulations
- Strong understanding of explosives handling, storage, and transportation protocols
- Knowledge of MSHA, ATF, and local safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, calculate charge weights, and plan blast sequences
- Physical capability to perform demanding fieldwork in varying weather conditions
- Reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to jobsites throughout the Atlanta metro region
