Custodian

Jourdanton ISD is seeking a detail-oriented Custodian for our campus in Jourdanton, Atascosa County. As a full-time member of our facilities team, you'll play an essential role in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming learning environments for our students and staff.

About the Role

The Custodian position is fundamental to our district's operations. You'll follow established cleaning and maintenance protocols to uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and facility condition across our campus. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to supporting our school community.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas
• Maintain building grounds, including exterior areas and landscaping
• Follow safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly
• Respond to maintenance requests and perform minor repairs as needed
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment and tools
• Report facility issues and coordinate with maintenance staff
• Work flexible hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts as needed

What We're Looking For

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
• Knowledge of standard cleaning techniques, materials, and safety procedures
• Familiarity with minor building repairs and maintenance
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform cleaning tasks throughout shifts
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe facilities
