About the Role
Allakos is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing breakthrough therapeutic antibodies that target inhibitory receptors on immune effector cells. In this full-time leadership position, you'll direct analytical development and quality control operations that are essential to our path forward. You'll own the vision for assay strategy, method development, and quality systems that support our pipeline while maintaining the highest scientific and regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
- Lead and expand the analytical development function, overseeing assay design, method validation, and technical execution across therapeutic programs
- Establish quality control strategies and systems that ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance throughout development and manufacturing
- Direct a talented team of scientists and technical specialists, fostering innovation and operational excellence
- Partner with R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and clinical teams to align analytical capabilities with program timelines and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in analytical techniques and laboratory efficiency
- Represent analytical development in regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities
What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related discipline with 12+ years in analytical chemistry or related fields
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries
- Deep expertise in assay development, method validation, and quality control for biologics or monoclonal antibodies
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (ICH, FDA) for analytical methods and quality assurance
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at the executive level
- Scientific rigor combined with practical problem-solving and business acumen
