About the Role
As an Ingredient Evaluation Specialist at Steuben Foods, you'll oversee the complete lifecycle of ingredient and packaging assessment from supplier delivery through final approval. This role sits at the intersection of quality control, supplier management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring every component meets our standards.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and coordinate incoming deliveries of ingredients and packaging materials
- Conduct systematic evaluation and testing of raw ingredients to verify quality and safety standards
- Assess packaging for integrity and regulatory compliance
- Review supplier performance and maintain supplier relationships
- Recommend approval or rejection of ingredients and suppliers based on evaluation findings
- Communicate quality assessment results to management, customers, and supplier partners
- Ensure all ingredients and packaging meet applicable food safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, test results, and supplier documentation
- Work with production and procurement teams to resolve quality issues
What We're Looking For
- Experience in ingredient evaluation, quality assurance, or supply chain roles
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to assess ingredients and packaging against technical specifications
