Senior Designer, Fashion – Women’s Sweaters & Knits

Join Walmart's design team in Grand Central, Manhattan as a Senior Designer, Fashion - Women's Sweaters & Knits. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead the creative direction of our private label knitwear and sweater collections, reporting directly to the Design Director while managing the entire design lifecycle from initial concept through production delivery.

About the Role

As a Senior Designer specializing in women's sweaters and knits, you'll spearhead the creative strategy and execution of Walmart's proprietary knitwear lines. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on design expertise, positioning you as a key contributor in shaping fashion offerings for millions of customers across the United States.

What You'll Do

• Lead the end-to-end design process for private brand knitwear collections, from initial concept development through finished production
• Develop compelling design narratives, silhouettes, and fabrication strategies that align with seasonal trends and customer expectations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, production, quality assurance, and sourcing partners
• Oversee technical specifications, fit standards, and quality guidelines to ensure all designs meet production feasibility and brand standards
• Present design concepts and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Monitor fashion trends, textile innovations, and competitive positioning in the women's knitwear market

What We're Looking For

• Extensive professional design experience in fashion, with demonstrated expertise in knitwear and sweater construction
• Proven success launching collections from concept through retail distribution
• Strong technical knowledge of knit fabrications, construction methods, and production capabilities
• Proficiency in design software, presentation tools, and technical sketching
• Leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Fashion design background or equivalent professional experience
• Willingness to relocate to the New York City area, specifically the Manhattan location
