About the Role
As a Paraprofessional at Betsie Valley Elementary, you will work under the direction of the Building Principal and collaborate closely with teaching staff to create an engaging, supportive classroom experience. This full-time role focuses on providing direct assistance to students and teachers across a range of academic and behavioral needs, contributing to the success of every learner in our schools.
What You'll Do
- Support classroom instruction by assisting teachers with lessons, activities, and student engagement
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to reinforce learning objectives and build academic skills
- Help manage classroom materials, resources, and learning spaces
- Monitor and support student behavior and social-emotional development
- Assist with classroom transitions, routines, and special activities
- Communicate regularly with teachers about student progress and needs
- Support inclusive classroom practices and help all learners thrive
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Genuine passion for supporting student learning and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Reliability and a commitment to maintaining classroom routines and expectations
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to student and classroom needs
- Background check clearance as required by Michigan schools
