Production Supervisor (OVERNIGHT SHIFT)

Axalta is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead overnight operations at our Mount Clemens, Macomb County manufacturing facility. This full-time position oversees a team of 10–16 production associates and manages critical manufacturing processes for high-performance coatings and chemical products in a fast-paced industrial environment.

About the Role

Running a complete overnight shift (11:00pm to 7:30am) at our 400 N Groesbeck Highway facility, you'll be responsible for day-to-day production operations, team leadership, and quality assurance. You'll report directly to plant management and ensure that production targets, safety standards, and product specifications are consistently met throughout your shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of 10–16 production associates; assign work, monitor progress, and ensure accountability
• Oversee manufacturing processes to maintain quality, yield, and adherence to specifications
• Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance across all shift operations
• Manage equipment, inventory, and maintenance coordination; flag issues to plant maintenance as needed
• Develop production staff through coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action
• Communicate shift status, challenges, and decisions to management and outgoing shifts
• Problem-solve production delays and implement timely corrective actions

Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory or lead role experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations
• Strong leadership ability; proven track record of motivating and managing teams
• Working knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, site-specific protocols) and commitment to a safe workplace
• Mechanical awareness or prior exposure to industrial equipment and chemical manufacturing preferred
• Proficiency in computer systems and ability to communicate clearly with diverse teams
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (required)
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
