Vista Trans Holding is looking for experienced OTR CDL-A flatbed and stepdeck drivers to join our team based in Colon, St. Joseph County. This is a full-time independent contractor position that offers premium freight opportunities and competitive earnings for qualified professional drivers.
About the Role
We're seeking skilled flatbed and stepdeck operators for long-haul over-the-road (OTR) work. You'll haul quality freight across established routes, working directly with our dispatch team to maximize both efficiency and profitability. This role is ideal for experienced drivers who take pride in their work and want genuine earning potential.
What You'll Do
- Operate a flatbed or stepdeck trailer on multi-state OTR assignments
- Load, secure, and transport freight in compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards
- Maintain your vehicle and perform routine pre- and post-trip inspections
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route optimization
- Meet delivery deadlines while maintaining a strong safety record
- Document logs and maintain required records for compliance purposes
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A with flatbed/stepdeck endorsement and clean driving history
- Minimum 2+ years OTR experience with flatbed equipment
- Strong knowledge of load securement and flatbed operations
- Willingness to work away from home for extended periods
- Professional attitude and commitment to safety and reliability
- Ability to pass background check and medical certification
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive pay structure at $0.85 per mile or 30% of gross revenue, with typical weekly earnings ranging from $8,500 to $13,000 gross. You work as a 1099 independent contractor, giving you control over your earning potential through premium freight opportunities.
