About the Role
As a Lead Software Engineer within our Consumer and Community Branch's workplace technology team, you'll combine deep technical expertise in Java and Python with leadership vision to drive operational excellence across our systems. You'll architect resilient infrastructure, mentor engineering teams, and establish best practices that strengthen reliability and reduce risk across our production environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines, and cloud-based systems that enable rapid, safe delivery of financial applications
- Lead development of monitoring, logging, and observability solutions that provide real-time visibility into system performance and health
- Mentor engineers in SRE practices, incident response disciplines, and operational resilience patterns
- Architect Java and Python-based tooling for infrastructure-as-code, system automation, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to integrate regulatory controls and security hardening into every system we build
- Own on-call responsibilities and drive blameless postmortems that continuously improve our reliability posture
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or equivalent infrastructure leadership roles
- Strong production expertise with Java and Python for systems tooling, automation, and scripting
- Hands-on experience with containerization, orchestration technologies, and cloud platforms
- Proven track record mentoring teams and driving technical decisions across engineering organizations
- Deep understanding of system design, fault tolerance, scalability, and high-availability architecture
- Background in regulated industries, security-focused infrastructure development, or both
- Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
