Social Influence is seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Production Planner to join our production team in Garner, Wake County. This full-time position works the 2nd shift and offers a competitive salary of $60,000–$65,000 annually.
About the Role
As a Prepress Production Planner, you'll manage the critical planning and coordination phase of our print production operations. You'll optimize press configurations, manage material flow, and ensure bindery operations run seamlessly. This role demands a thorough understanding of multiple printing technologies and the ability to translate customer requirements into detailed production specifications.
What You'll Do
- Plan and optimize press sheets and web configurations to maximize efficiency and minimize waste
- Coordinate bindery operations including cutting, folding, stitching, and gluing processes
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and die files to guide production setup
- Manage die libraries and evaluate tooling lead times for project scheduling
- Maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and production routings in our ERP/MIS systems
- Ensure press specifications align with grain direction and material requirements
What We're Looking For
- Proven expertise with offset, digital, and flexographic printing processes
- Proficiency with ERP or MIS platforms for tracking BOMs and production routings
- Strong ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, die specifications, and folding dummies
- Working knowledge of bindery equipment capabilities and constraints
- Understanding of grain direction and its impact on final print quality
- Familiarity with die libraries and typical tooling lead times in print production
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
