About the Role

As Store Perishable Manager, you'll oversee all perishable inventory and merchandise within your Dollar General location. You'll manage product quality, maintain compliance with food safety standards, and ensure fresh products are properly stocked, rotated, and displayed. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines merchandising expertise with operational responsibility.

What You'll Do

• Receive, inspect, and stock perishable items including produce, dairy, and refrigerated products
• Implement proper rotation and dating practices to minimize waste and ensure product freshness
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate orders with distribution
• Maintain sanitation standards and food safety protocols across all perishable departments
• Train and supervise team members on handling, storage, and customer service in perishable areas
• Monitor sales performance and merchandising displays to drive store revenue
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve quality concerns
• Work with store management to optimize perishable section profitability

What We're Looking For

• At least 20 years old (required)
• Experience in perishable goods management, grocery, or retail is preferred
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling practices
• Ability to lift, carry, and organize merchandise regularly
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
