Vista Trans Holding is hiring experienced CDL-A flatbed and stepdeck drivers for full-time, over-the-road positions based in Port Clinton, Ottawa County. About the Role
This is a 1099 independent contractor position for experienced OTR drivers with flatbed and stepdeck expertise. You'll handle long-haul freight assignments across established routes, managing load securement, equipment operation, and customer communication with the professionalism that defines successful drivers in this segment.
What You'll Do
- Operate flatbed and stepdeck equipment on over-the-road long-haul routes
- Secure, tarp, and manage freight loads in compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain vehicle logs, fuel records, and delivery documentation
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
- Coordinate with dispatch and shippers on pickups, deliveries, and route logistics
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with flatbed experience and a clean driving record
- Demonstrated experience with flatbed and stepdeck operations OTR
- Knowledge of proper load securement and weight distribution
- Strong communication and customer-focused work ethic
- Self-directed approach to independent long-haul driving
Pay & Benefits
Earn $0.85 per mile or 30% of gross freight revenue — we'll pay you whichever structure maximizes your income per load. Full-time OTR drivers typically gross $8,500 to $13,000 weekly. As a 1099 contractor, you control your schedule and earning potential.
