Director of Field Operations

Remora is hiring a Director of Field Operations in Wixom, Michigan to lead the scaling and execution of complex industrial field operations as we expand beyond research and development into full commercial deployment.

About the Role

As Director of Field Operations at Remora, you'll own hands-on leadership of site and field execution during a pivotal growth phase. This is a core executive position where you'll establish operating standards, drive performance metrics, and ensure seamless deployment of our industrial systems across multiple field locations. Your leadership will directly impact our transition to commercial-scale operations. This is a full-time role.

What You'll Do

• Build and lead the field operations team, establishing best practices and training protocols
• Manage on-site operations and performance across deployed locations
• Oversee field service delivery and maintenance scheduling to ensure uptime and customer success
• Ensure CO₂ quality standards and operational compliance across all sites
• Coordinate logistics, equipment procurement, and resource allocation for field teams
• Develop and implement operational metrics to track performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to refine deployment processes
• Report to executive leadership on operational KPIs and site performance

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading field operations, site management, or field service organizations
• Background in industrial operations, manufacturing, or similar technical environments
• Track record scaling operations from pilot or R&D phases to full commercial deployment
• Strong operational management skills including logistics, maintenance, and quality control
• Ability to work hands-on in the field while managing team leadership and strategy
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and business teams
• Problem-solving mindset and comfort operating in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment
