Vomela, a full-service visual communications company based in Springfield, Fairfax County, is hiring a skilled Bindery Operator for a full-time position. In this role, you'll operate precision finishing equipment to fold, bind, and collate printed materials that help our clients communicate their brands effectively to customers worldwide.
About the Role
As a Bindery Operator at Vomela, you'll handle the critical finishing stages of print production. Your precision, mechanical aptitude, and attention to quality ensure that every finished product leaving our facility meets strict standards and customer specifications. You'll work with both our established equipment and emerging bindery technologies to keep production moving efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Operate bindery equipment including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, and binding machines
- Set up machines according to job specifications and production requirements
- Monitor and inspect output throughout each production run to ensure quality standards are met
- Load materials, unload finished products, and organize workflow to maximize efficiency
- Read and follow work orders, production schedules, and technical specifications
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Maintain a safe, clean production area and comply with all safety procedures
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating bindery or production finishing equipment
- Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality output
- Ability to read production specifications and follow multi-step instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and collaborative team member
- Basic math skills and comfort learning new equipment
