About the Role

Coppermine Fieldhouse is seeking an experienced Swim Instructor to lead group and private swimming lessons for our diverse student population. In this position, you'll develop lesson plans, demonstrate proper techniques, and create a supportive environment where swimmers build skills and confidence. You'll work with students at various levels—from beginners learning water comfort to advanced swimmers refining technique—and adapt instruction to meet individual needs and learning styles.

What You'll Do

• Teach swimming fundamentals including water safety, floating, breath control, and standard strokes
• Conduct assessments to determine student skill levels and track progress
• Create positive, encouraging lesson environments that build water confidence
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student advancement
• Model proper aquatic safety protocols and water behavior expectations
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ages
• Maintain facility equipment and document attendance and skill milestones

What We're Looking For

• Certification in swimming instruction or aquatics coaching
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children
• Strong communication and patience with students at all skill levels
• Physical fitness and ability to demonstrate techniques in water
• Commitment to water safety and student-centered instruction
