About the Role
We're seeking experienced CDL-A holders to operate flatbed and stepdeck trailers on over-the-road routes. As an independent contractor (1099), you'll manage long-haul freight transport, maintain equipment standards, and earn based on your performance and the loads you take.
What You'll Do
- Operate flatbed and stepdeck trailers for OTR long-haul freight transport
- Secure and transport specialized and premium cargo safely
- Maintain detailed logs, delivery records, and required vehicle inspections
- Coordinate with dispatch on load status and schedule adherence
- Perform pre- and post-trip checks to ensure equipment compliance
- Meet DOT regulations and company safety standards on every route
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with current endorsements and clean driving record
- Hands-on experience operating flatbed or stepdeck trailers on OTR runs
- Ability to properly secure diverse cargo types and work independently
- Professional communication with dispatch, customers, and team members
- Commitment to vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance
- Reliable home base in or near Eastman, Crawford County
Compensation
Drivers earn either $0.85 per mile or 30% of gross revenue—choose the pay structure that works best for you. Average weekly gross earnings are $8,500 to $13,000, depending on available loads and your route selections. As a 1099 contractor, you control your schedule and earning potential.
