Join Prosperity Life Group as an Associate Counsel, Annuity & Life Insurance Product in our New York City headquarters. As a full-time legal professional, you'll provide essential legal guidance on our growing suite of annuity and life insurance products, directly supporting our expansion as a trusted retail insurance platform.
About the Role
This Associate Counsel position focuses on the legal dimensions of annuity and life insurance product development, regulatory compliance, and market delivery. You'll work at the intersection of product strategy, compliance, and risk management—ensuring our offerings meet all applicable federal and state insurance regulations while enabling innovation across our retail distribution channels.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal review and counsel on annuity and life insurance product design, documentation, and launch
- Draft, review, and revise contracts, product disclosures, policy documents, and related legal agreements
- Advise product and compliance teams on regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Support compliance with state insurance codes, federal laws, and evolving regulatory guidance
- Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risk across product lines
- Collaborate with actuarial, product, marketing, and operations teams to streamline product delivery
- Maintain legal documentation and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar admission (any U.S. jurisdiction)
- Background in insurance law, annuity and life insurance products, or related regulatory and compliance work
- Strong knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations
- Excellent contract drafting, legal analysis, and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across business teams and manage competing priorities
- Detail-oriented with sound judgment and professional discretion
