Join Empire Communities Corp. as a Staff Accountant in our Northlake, DeKalb County office. In this full-time role, you'll support our Finance & Accounting team by ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing critical vendor and internal relationships, and driving our month-end and year-end close processes forward.
About the Role
You'll be essential to our financial operations, handling core accounting responsibilities that directly impact the accuracy and compliance of our financial records. This position offers hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle, with meaningful opportunities to contribute to our organization's financial strength and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts with precision
- Record transactions and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records
- Manage vendor and intercompany relationships and reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close procedures
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting financial reporting
- Investigate account variances and discrepancies
- Maintain detailed documentation and audit trails
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors
What We're Looking For
- Associate's degree in accounting or finance (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Working knowledge of accounting software and strong Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Clear communicator with strong team collaboration skills
