Automotive Controller

Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group is hiring a full-time Automotive Controller in Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania. We're seeking an experienced, detail-oriented financial leader to oversee all accounting and financial operations for our multi-dealership group, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning that drives profitability and growth.

About the Role

As Automotive Controller for Jeff D'Ambrosio Auto Group, you'll lead the financial function across our dealership operations. This role combines day-to-day accounting management with strategic financial oversight, requiring a professional who understands dealership-specific accounting and can maintain rigorous controls while supporting sales and operational teams.

What You'll Do

• Oversee complete accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and cash management
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets; analyze variances and provide financial insights to leadership
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors; ensure compliance with GAAP and automotive industry regulations
• Supervise payroll processing and tax withholding compliance
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and procedures
• Manage dealership-specific accounting including vehicle inventory, floor plan financing, and dealer incentives
• Support business growth by providing timely financial analysis and reporting to decision-makers

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or pursuit of CPA certification
• 5+ years of accounting or controller-level experience, ideally in automotive dealerships
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; familiarity with dealership management systems preferred
• Strong leadership ability and experience supervising accounting staff
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of automotive industry financial practices and regulatory requirements
• Professional communication and problem-solving skills
