Join Adara Communities as an Apartment Assistant Maintenance Technician at our Timbers of Deerbrook community in Bordersville, Houston. This is a full-time position supporting the maintenance operations of a well-established 260-unit apartment community.
About the Role
As Assistant Maintenance Technician, you'll work alongside our maintenance team to keep our residents' homes and common spaces in excellent condition. You'll gain hands-on experience in apartment maintenance while contributing to a community where attention to detail and reliability matter. This role offers the opportunity to develop a skilled trade while supporting a growing property management company with deep industry roots.
What You'll Do
- Assist with preventative and routine maintenance across the apartment community
- Respond to resident work orders and maintenance requests with professionalism and promptness
- Perform repairs and maintenance on systems including HVAC, plumbing, and general building components under supervision
- Maintain and repair common areas, including landscaping, grounds, and facility spaces
- Follow safety protocols and report maintenance issues or hazards appropriately
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Support the maintenance team with various tasks as needed to ensure smooth community operations
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance skills
- Physical ability to lift, climb, stand for extended periods, and work in varied conditions
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependability
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with a team
- Good communication skills and customer service mindset
