About the Role

As a Campus Volunteer Coordinator specializing in elementary school partnerships, you'll be the bridge between University of Portland Portal and nonprofit organizations serving our community. Working with elementary school SUN programs, you'll mobilize your peers around civic engagement and develop scalable volunteer pathways that address real community needs. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines relationship building, event coordination, and grassroots outreach.

What You'll Do

  • Identify partnership opportunities with elementary school nonprofit organizations and SUN programs across the Portland metro area
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate student volunteers for ongoing service projects and one-time initiatives
  • Design and facilitate volunteer activities that create meaningful engagement for students and impact for partner agencies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit staff, school administrators, and community stakeholders
  • Communicate community needs and volunteer opportunities to the broader student body through outreach and social engagement
  • Track volunteer participation, manage program logistics, and report on outcomes
  • Advocate for civic engagement and service-learning across campus
