Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District is recruiting a Substitute Teacher for Briarcliff High School to deliver instructional coverage and sustain classroom engagement when our regular teachers are unavailable. This full-time, per-diem substitute position serves the 2026-2027 school year.
About the Role
As a Substitute Teacher at Briarcliff High School, you will step into classrooms to ensure learning continuity when regular instructors are absent. This position requires you to follow lesson plans prepared by classroom teachers, maintain productive learning spaces, and support students' academic engagement throughout the instructional day.
What You'll Do
- Execute instructional plans prepared by the regular classroom teacher
- Establish and sustain an orderly, productive learning environment
- Address student conduct issues and reinforce classroom expectations
- Engage students with course content and track their participation and learning
- Communicate with students and staff about daily classroom activities and observations
- Uphold all Briarcliff High School policies and procedures
