Sous Chef

Join The Walt Disney Company as a Sous Chef in Tarrytown, Travis County, where you'll lead kitchen operations and mentor culinary team members in a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment. As a full-time Sous Chef, you'll play a critical role in maintaining Disney's exacting standards for food quality, safety, and presentation while collaborating with Executive Chefs and dining teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation across multiple stations
• Train, supervise, and evaluate kitchen staff, ensuring consistent adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and food safety protocols
• Maintain inventory management, monitor food costs, and minimize waste while preserving quality standards
• Assist in menu development and food planning, collaborating with the Executive Chef on seasonal offerings and special events
• Ensure strict compliance with health codes, sanitation standards, and Disney safety procedures
• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and food handling to maintain the highest quality and guest satisfaction
• Support guest services by addressing special dietary needs and maintaining composure during peak dining periods

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume kitchen environment
• Strong culinary skills with expertise in multiple cooking techniques and cuisine styles
• Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and manage kitchen staff effectively
• In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen health code regulations
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork and excellence
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
