gpac is seeking a Production Utility Technician to join our operations team at our Stoughton, Dane County dairy manufacturing facility. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support critical production processes across our plant while developing expertise in food manufacturing operations.
About the Role
As a Production Utility Technician, you'll perform essential maintenance and operational support that keeps our dairy production running smoothly. This position involves rotating through multiple departments, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all facility systems operate at peak efficiency and safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Support utility systems including water, steam, compressed air, and electrical distribution across the facility
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and plant infrastructure
- Assist production teams with equipment setup, cleaning, and changeovers between product runs
- Monitor and maintain sanitation standards throughout the plant to ensure product quality and food safety compliance
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and operational issues on the production floor
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and safety observations
- Coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to prioritize maintenance needs
- Follow all OSHA, FDA, and plant-specific safety protocols and procedures
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment systems quickly
- Hands-on experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, or production support preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to rotate through different departments and adapt to production schedules
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow technical instructions and written procedures
