Memphis Hospitals is seeking a Laboratory Lab Technician (LLT) to join our South region night shift team. This is a full-time, 32-hour-per-week position based at our Memphis healthcare facility, offering the opportunity to provide essential lab services to patients across the Mid-South during overnight hours.
About the Role
As an LLT working nights at Memphis Hospitals, you'll be a vital part of our clinical laboratory operations, supporting patient care when it matters most. This position involves phlebotomy, specimen processing, and laboratory maintenance during our evening and overnight shifts, ensuring that diagnostic testing keeps pace with patient needs around the clock.
What You'll Do
- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols
- Label, organize, and prepare laboratory samples for analysis and testing
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure accurate documentation of all collected specimens
- Administer appropriate patient care and comfort during collection procedures
- Follow infection control and biohazard safety standards consistently
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and laboratory personnel to support coordinated care
- Maintain equipment and work areas according to laboratory standards and regulations
- Assist with routine laboratory duties and support night shift operations
What We're Looking For
- Current phlebotomy certification or laboratory technician licensure (state requirements apply)
- Demonstrated experience as a phlebotomist or laboratory technician
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture and specimen collection best practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively during overnight shifts
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Professional demeanor and strong patient interaction skills
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position
