Royse City ISD is hiring a Self-Contained Special Education Paraprofessional for a full-time support role serving students with significant learning and behavioral needs. This position includes a $4/hour premium pay structure and provides the opportunity to deliver essential academic, behavioral, and daily living support in a dedicated special education classroom.
About the Role
As a Self-Contained Special Education Paraprofessional with Royse City ISD, you'll support students who receive their primary instruction within a dedicated special education classroom. Working under the direction of special education teachers, you'll help students with significant disabilities develop academic skills, behavioral competencies, and daily living abilities.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct instructional support to students in a self-contained special education classroom
- Assist with academic skill development in areas such as reading, math, and functional academics aligned to individual IEPs
- Support behavioral, social, and communication skill development through targeted interventions and positive reinforcement
- Help with activities of daily living, personal care, and mobility assistance as needed
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the special education teacher
- Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment for all learners
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and support specialists to advance student IEP goals
