Director – LOA Processing

RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Services is hiring a Director - LOA Processing to lead leave of absence operations at our East Millstone headquarters in Somerset County, New Jersey. This full-time, salaried director role offers the opportunity to drive efficiency and compliance in employee leave administration for a major healthcare organization.

About the Role

As Director of LOA Processing, you will oversee all aspects of leave of absence administration within the Employee Solutions & Service Center. You'll manage daily operations, lead strategic improvements, and ensure our leave processes meet regulatory requirements and serve our employees effectively. This role bridges Human Resources and Payroll, requiring both operational excellence and stakeholder relationship management.

What You'll Do

• Direct and optimize leave of absence processing workflows, ensuring accuracy and timely administration
• Manage team performance and professional development within the LOA processing function
• Ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, and New Jersey-specific regulations
• Identify process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and employee experience
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and departmental leaders on leave-related matters
• Monitor metrics, reporting, and system performance to maintain operational standards
• Handle complex or sensitive leave requests and provide guidance on challenging scenarios

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive experience in leave of absence administration or HR operations
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex HR functions
• Deep knowledge of federal and New Jersey leave laws (FMLA, ADA, NJ-specific regulations)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with HRIS systems and payroll integration preferred
