Sr Compensation Analyst

Join Public Consulting Group as a Sr Compensation Analyst in our Washington, D.C. office. About the Role

As a Sr Compensation Analyst, you'll own compensation strategy, analysis, and administration that attracts and retains top talent while ensuring equity and compliance. You'll combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to shape how our organization compensates and supports its workforce.

What You'll Do

• Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to inform salary positioning and compensation decisions
• Design, develop, and maintain compensation programs, pay structures, and grade bands
• Analyze compensation data using statistical methods and visualization tools to identify trends and inequities
• Support equity audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations
• Partner with HR leadership and department heads to implement compensation strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Create compensation reports, documentation, and recommendations for executive leadership
• Stay current on labor market trends and compensation best practices in the public sector

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of compensation analysis, rewards strategy, or related HR analytics experience
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet analysis, SQL, or statistical software (R, Python, Tableau)
• Strong understanding of market pricing methodologies, job evaluation frameworks, and pay equity principles
• Knowledge of federal compensation compliance and public sector compensation practices
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex compensation concepts to diverse audiences
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Economics, or related field
• Demonstrated project management experience and ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
