Speech Pathologist

Join Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Manati as a Speech Pathologist and help patients regain communication and swallowing abilities in our Barceloneta community. This part-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized speech therapy services to individuals recovering from stroke, surgery, neurological conditions, and other healthcare challenges.

About the Role

As a Speech Pathologist with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Manati, you'll deliver evidence-based speech-language pathology services across our inpatient rehabilitation setting in Urbanización Ortega, Barceloneta. You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and document patient progress while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team committed to functional recovery.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
• Design and implement therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's rehabilitation goals
• Conduct dysphagia assessments and provide feeding and swallowing management
• Document clinical findings and track patient outcomes in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about communication and swallowing strategies
• Work with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses to support whole-person recovery
• Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for ongoing care

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or Puerto Rico equivalent
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Puerto Rico
• Clinical experience in an inpatient acute care or rehabilitation setting preferred
• Strong assessment and treatment skills across the lifespan
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
