About the Role
University Health is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Lab Scientist to join our laboratory team. In this role, you'll perform critical testing and analysis on patient specimens, ensuring accurate results that directly inform physician diagnoses and treatment plans. What You'll Do
- Execute laboratory testing procedures on diverse specimen types with precision and adherence to established protocols
- Analyze test results for accuracy and clinical significance before reporting to physicians
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Prepare specimens and reagents according to quality standards
- Document findings and maintain comprehensive laboratory records
- Perform quality control checks to ensure reliability of test results
- Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and clinical teams to support patient care
- Identify and troubleshoot anomalies in test results and equipment performance
What We're Looking For
- Medical Laboratory Scientist certification (MLS) or eligibility
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing principles and methodologies
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
