HSE Specialist – (Data Centers)

Jacobs is hiring a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist for our data center operations in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. This is a full-time position focused on ensuring workplace safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence across our facilities.

About the Role

As an HSE Specialist supporting our data center infrastructure, you'll play a critical role in protecting our workforce, assets, and environment. You'll develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs tailored to the unique demands of modern data center operations. Your work directly impacts how safely and responsibly we deliver mission-critical infrastructure to our clients.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits across data center facilities and related work areas
• Design and deliver training programs covering safety protocols, emergency procedures, electrical safety, and environmental best practices
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Maintain detailed records of safety metrics, compliance documentation, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Collaborate with operational teams to identify emerging risks and develop preventive control measures
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, local codes, and company safety policies
• Monitor environmental conditions and waste management practices within data center operations
• Participate in safety committee meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications (CSP, CSO, CHST, or similar) preferred
• Proven experience in health and safety management, ideally within industrial, technical, or facility-intensive environments
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment methodologies
• Excellent communication and training skills to educate diverse teams
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple compliance and documentation requirements
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
