Terrebonne General Health System is hiring a Medical Lab Technician ASCP for a full-time position supporting our Laboratory and Pathology Department. Based in the United States, you'll perform clinical laboratory work that directly informs physician decision-making and patient care.
About the Role
In this Medical Lab Technician ASCP position, you'll execute laboratory analyses and diagnostic procedures that help guide patient diagnosis and treatment. Working in our Laboratory and Pathology Department, you'll report clinical findings to physicians and clinical staff, ensuring they have the accurate diagnostic information needed to provide excellent care.
What You'll Do
- Perform clinical laboratory tests and analyses using established laboratory techniques and scientific protocols
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instrumentation and diagnostic equipment
- Collect, process, and prepare patient specimens for accurate analysis
- Execute quality control procedures and maintain detailed, accurate documentation of laboratory work
- Report test results and clinical findings to physicians and healthcare team members
- Uphold laboratory safety standards and comply with CLIA regulations and industry best practices
- Partner with laboratory and clinical colleagues to deliver timely, accurate diagnostic results
What We're Looking For
- Current ASCP Board of Certification credential or certification eligibility in Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Technician
- Associate degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
- Solid understanding of laboratory testing methods, analytical procedures, and safety protocols
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment operation and specimen processing
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to precise documentation and accuracy
- Professional communication abilities and collaborative teamwork orientation
- Dedication to patient safety and clinical laboratory standards
