Join Krum Independent School District as a full-time Science Teacher at Krum Middle School. We're seeking an experienced educator to inspire middle school students with engaging instruction in core science subjects. This is an exempt, professional position reporting directly to the school principal.
About the Role
As a Science Teacher at Krum Middle School, you'll design and deliver dynamic instruction that builds students' scientific thinking and problem-solving skills. You'll create a classroom environment where curiosity thrives and learners develop a deep understanding of core science content aligned with state standards.
What You'll Do
- Plan and teach rigorous, standards-aligned science lessons that engage diverse middle school learners
- Develop age-appropriate activities, labs, and demonstrations that reinforce conceptual understanding
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs
- Foster critical thinking and scientific inquiry through hands-on exploration and discussion
- Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports active learning and collaboration
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and areas for growth
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement best practices and support the school's educational mission
What We're Looking For
- Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility for Science instruction at the secondary level
- Strong knowledge of middle school science content and pedagogy
- Experience creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences
- Commitment to data-driven instruction and differentiation for all learners
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Professional demeanor and dedication to student success
