About the Role
As a Security Guard, you will be the first line of defense in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities and the people who use them. Working in this full-time position, you'll combine active monitoring, professional judgment, and interpersonal skills to create a secure yet welcoming environment. Your presence and professionalism are essential to our mission of empowering communities.
What You'll Do
- Monitor building entrances, exits, and common areas; screen visitors and verify credentials
- Conduct regular patrols of premises to identify and address potential security concerns
- Maintain detailed security logs and incident reports in accordance with company protocols
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity
- Control access to facilities and equipment; verify authorization for entry
- Communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and law enforcement when needed
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects our commitment to community
What We're Looking For
- Valid New York security guard license or ability to obtain one
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently
- Physical ability to patrol facilities and respond to situations
- Commitment to serving diverse communities with respect and equity
